🚀 Internship Opportunity at DEFINE Innovation Hub for Autumn 2026!

Are you interested in innovations in the defence and security sector, networking opportunities, and the chance to contribute to the development of future dual-use technologies?

We are looking for active, self-driven, and eager-to-learn students for internships at the DEFINE Innovation Hub in Riihimäki. We offer two different internship paths:

🔹 Hub Intern

• Developing the operations and facilities of the Innovation Hub
• Assisting with the organization of events and visits
• Contributing to the development of the Hub Host operating model

🔹 Accelerator Intern

• Supporting startup companies and business development activities
• Assisting with tasks related to the DEFINE Accelerator Program
• Opportunity to work alongside innovative companies

The internship offers a unique opportunity to build networks with professionals in the defence and security sectors, gain hands-on experience, and participate in exciting development projects.

📍 Location: DEFINE Innovation Hub, Riihimäki ⏰ Part-time internship (16 hours/week) 🎓 Suitable for students in their second year of studies or beyond

HAMKES is excited to announce that we are launching our very first official website, which is currently under development and on track to go live by the end of August.

The new website will serve as the central hub for everything related to HAMKES, making it easier than ever for members to stay informed and connected. Whether you’re looking for the latest news, upcoming events, or important announcements, you’ll find everything in one convenient place so you never miss what’s happening within the society.

Beyond keeping you up to date, the website will also provide valuable information about who we are and what we stand for. Visitors will be able to explore HAMKES’ history, mission, and vision, gain a better understanding of our goals, and learn about the values that guide our work.

In addition, the website will feature clear membership guidelines, introduce the current Board members and their respective roles, and provide up-to-date information about our office locations across all campuses. These resources are designed to make it easier for both current and prospective members to engage with the society and access the information they need.

This marks an important milestone for HAMKES as we establish our first proper official online presence. It is an exciting step forward in strengthening communication, increasing accessibility, and bringing our community closer together.

HAMKES is growing!

HAMKES continues to grow, and we are delighted to share another exciting milestone for our society. We now have 151 members, marking a significant increase in our community. This includes 33 new members who have joined us this year, alongside 118 returning members who have chosen to continue their journey with HAMKES.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new members. We are excited to have you on board and look forward to seeing you take part in our activities, events, and initiatives throughout the year. At the same time, we are incredibly grateful to our returning members for their continued trust and enthusiasm. Your ongoing support is what allows our community to thrive.

This growth is the result of the collective efforts of many people across our organization. Over the past months, we have focused on connecting with students and introducing them to what HAMKES has to offer. Our presence at various events has allowed us to meet prospective members face-to-face, while our open office days created an informal space where anyone could stop by, ask questions, and get to know our board members.

We also want to recognize the dedication of our board members, who have actively promoted HAMKES within their networks and encouraged others to become part of our society. In addition, our media team has done an outstanding job maintaining an engaging presence across our online platforms, helping us reach a wider audience and keep our community informed and connected.

Looking ahead, we are determined to continue building on this momentum. We plan to further strengthen our media presence by creating more engaging content, increasing our visibility across digital platforms, and reaching even more students who may be interested in joining HAMKES.

To everyone who has contributed to our growth, whether by becoming a member, attending an event, spreading the word, or supporting us behind the scenes, thank you. We are excited about what lies ahead and look forward to welcoming even more members as HAMKES continues to grow.
